1. Why do We Attend University?
Considering why we should attend universities, different people may have different ideas.Some students want to go to college for the construction of our country. Other students believe they are bound to find a better job with college education.Meanwhile, there are also some students who are forced to attend university by their parents.
Actually, life in the colleges and jobs we can find after graduate are usually quite to our disappointment.Especially under the severe competition of today'S society, it is not very easy for a college graduate to find a satisfying job.So far as I am concerned, universities can provide good study opportunities and essential facilities.As a student, We should take full advantage of these things to have enough preparation for our future.I believe this should be the main reason why we go to college.
Though our reasons for going to college differ from each other, I think the most important thing is to cherish this good study opportunity, never wasting the time.
2. Can Money Buy Happiness?
Nowadays, a lot of people in the society think the more money they have, the more happiness they will obtain.As a result, they will try their best to get money, even without considering the law.
But in my view, the greatest happiness lies in one's satisfaction with his surroundings. So long as we have a happy heart to face everything, we can be happy. It has nothing to do with the amount of money we have. As we can see in the real society, there are far too many rich people, but lots of them can not enjoy the real happiness. While many poor families are leading a satisfying life.
Therefore, people shouldn't pay too much attention to the money. On the contrary, what they should do is to put their money to the right use. Above all, they should try to have an optimistic mind to make them happy all the time.
3. Is Honesty Going out of Style?
To most Chinese people, we are quite familiar with the story of three Cries for Wolves? We have been taught to be honest when we are very young.
However, as we grow up, we find that it is difficult to be honest all the time. Sometimes, we are forced to tell lies. Other times, we find people who are dishonest can enjoy great pleasure while honest people have to suffer failures. And still there are times when we have to tell lies in order not to hurt others. Consequently, people are wondering whether honesty is going out of style.
As far as I am concerned, honesty should always be an important character valued by our Chinese. We should try our best to avoid telling lies (even white lies). Only by this, is a clean society awaiting us.
4. Do "Lucky Numbers" Really Bring Good Luck?
Some people think numbers like "6" or "8" will bring them good luck, because they bear the similar pronunciation with the related Chinese characters which mean good luck. As a result, some young people would choose a date in which there is a "6" or "8" to hold their weddings. While many shops would choose it to celebrate their opening ceremony.
However, it is rather ridiculous to think numbers can bring good fortune to people. Numbers are only symbols to indicate the size of things.One's success has nothing to do with the numbers he chooses, but is rather related to one's own efforts. Numbers are only numbers, we should not attach too much importance to them.
If you really think lucky numbers could bring good luck to you, simply choose it, but don't forget to go out of your ways to make your efforts. Without your contribution, good luck won't fall on you automatically. This is the most important thing we should bear in our minds.
5. Why Do They Drop out of School?
Nowadays, some students in the rural areas drop out of school because of poverty. In some remote countryside, many families are too poor to afford their children's education.To make things worse, there are also some parents who think it is no use for their children to go to school so long as they can earn some money.As a result, many school children, particularly some girls, were deprived of the chances to go to school.
If the situation goes on like that, China's future is out of the question. I think every child should get the equal opportunity to be educated.Society should try to help those poor families by donating some money to them. Government should try to set up some policies to reduce the cost of education. Furthermore, parents should be educated to be aware of the importance of education.Because children are the hope of our country and only properly educated, can they play an important role in the construction of our country.
6. On Recreation
It is impossible for us to keep fit unless we often take part in activities of recreation. One can not work well if he can not get an active recreation.
There are various kinds of games in our daily life after work. Many people like working and working, because in their mind working is the most important thing. But we usually sit too long in our office, and it is easy for our eyes and brain to get tired even when listening to music, watching TV or going to the cinema. So I think we had better have more outdoor activities to supply our muscles with exercise. 7. My Views on the Control on Firecrackers
Most of us may still hold a happy memory in our minds. When we were young, the Spring Festival was celebrated with the company of the flaming sparks and the loud explosions of firecrackers.
But because of the numerous disasters caused by them, governments in some big cities have made very severe control on the firecrackers in the downtown areas. Some people are sad about this decision. They argue that they will lose the flavor of some traditional festivals. Regardless of the fires and the damages on human bodies caused by firecrackers, they only focus on the pleasure firecrackers can bring about.
With the development of the modern society, more and more changes will take place in our lives. Some of the changes may be great challenges against the traditions. Yet we should support the government's policy under the consideration of the whole society. What's more, we should take some more civilized way to celebrate holidays upon stepping into the new century.
8. My Views on Tradition
Many people, especially the aged hold the idea that we should stick to the tradition of our country, otherwise, they think we will lose the distinctive Chinese characters. In their eyes, we should be proud of the great traditions left by our ancestors. We should inherit the old traditions in order to differentiate ourselves from other nations.
But many others are strongly opposed to this idea, they argue that we should not be confined to our own traditions. With the development of society, some of them have become the obstacles of our country's development, so we should not hesitate to give them up.
In my opinion, I don't think it's a good way to abandon our own traditions totally. What's more, it also wouldn't be wise to hold false worship on our own traditions. What we should do is to try to reform some of the traditions to catch up with the changing ideas of people. We can even be brave enough to take in all the valuable traditions from other nations. Only in this way, can the tradition of Chinese be passed down from generation to generation.
9. My Views on the Development of Private Cars
With the social development, more and more Chinese families begin to afford private cars. Yet opinions of whether we should develop private cars or not differ from person to person.
In some people's eyes, private cars have offered them great convenience and mobility. People no longer have to depend on public transportations, they can go wherever they want. However, opponents of this idea think that private cars make the situation of city traffic even worse. There are so many traffic jams.Worse still, so many private cars greatly pollute the air.
So far as I'm concerned, the increasing number of private cars is a symbol of modernization of our country. But we should try to carry out some relative policies to put the private cars under firm control. The most important thing is to minimize its disadvantage to the smallest.
10. My Views on Skyscrapers
