She started her education at a local school. When she was 18, she went to Bristol University. She majored in economics. While she was at university, she joined a folk group and started singing. When she was 21, she was married to Tony Harper. Now they have two children.

At last we got to the top of the mountain. White snow covered everything. People were sitting in groups of three and four. Some were lying on their backs. When they saw us, they were very happy and shouted: "We thought you had lost your way!"

He was always ringing me up.

She was always working.

The old lady was forever grumbling.

He was constantly changing his mind.

I was thinking maybe he could go by taxi.

I was hoping you could reconsider our proposal.

She was here a minute ago.

They gave it to me just now.

When did you come in?

I woke up at six.

Did you know that he was going to be married?

I didn't know you were in London too.

When did you get back?

I heard you were coming to China this autumn.

Why did you buy this?

Did you see anything interesting at the exhibition?

Why did you get up so early?

How did you like the show?

1) have gone to和have been to的差别:

She has gone to live abroad.

The kids have gone to the zoo.

Where has Mary gone?

have been(to)表示“到(来)过某地”:

Where have you been?——I've been to the cinema.

Have you ever been to Hong Kong?

I've been to Europe several times.

Who's been here?

Has she ever been in China?

I've been to see my grandmother.

She's been to do some shopping.

We've been friends ever since we met at school.

Much has changed since I was there last time.

It's two years since I left home.

How long is it since you came here last time?

I have been terribly busy since I've been back.

She has seldom been out since she has been ill.

It's some time since I've wirtten to her.

I'll wirte a preface when I've finished the book.

Don't go away until I have finished speaking to your father.

I'll tell them after you have left.

If he hasn't got up, don't wake him.

Don't rush him unless he's already got everything ready.

This (It) is the first time I have seen a pagoda.

That's the third time he's quarrelled with her in a week.

This is the easiest job I have ever had.

It's the first good meal I've had for ages.

5) have got

Have you got (=Do you have) a timetable?

She hasn't got any relations.

I've got only another three minutes.

What have you got against me?

I've got a cold.

You've got a new dress on.

I've got a few things to see to.

6) have got to和have to意思相同:

have got to和have to意思一样,表示“不得不”:

You've got to be careful.

That's what we've got to do.

You've got to keep this in mind.

Have you got to leave so soon?

We got to make ends meet.

I've been waiting (for) an hour and he still hasn't turned up.

What have you been doing all these years?

I'm very tired. I've been working all morning.

Your fingers are brown. You've been smoking too much.

2) 这个时态常和how long, long这类状语一起用:

How long has he been doing this work?

Have you been waiting long?

This has been going on all day long.

It has been raining for two hours now.

Her phone has been ringing for ten minutes. Why doesn't she answer it?

Her eyes are red. Has she been crying?

He is out of breath. He's been running.

Aren't you tired? You've been standing for two hours.

He hasn't been eating regularly recently.

He has been coughing a lot lately. He ought to give up smoking.

I've been using this typewriter for 6 years.

You've often been making mistakes like this.

I've known that for a long time.

The strike has lasted six months.

Nobody has seen him since last week.

I've been thinking of doing so for a long time.
